Position: Mechanical Engineering Technician Position type: Full-time, hourly Start date: Immediate opening
Cremmjoy develops and manufactures innovative soft serve and frozen beverage machines for commercial applications. Our Baton Rouge-based team is looking for a hands-on Mechanical Engineering Technician to support our engineering and R&D efforts. This position involves mechanical assembly, refrigeration fabrication, wiring, and machining. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in refrigeration systems, and enjoys working in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
Typical job duties include:

Fabricating custom refrigeration systems: cutting, bending, brazing copper tubing, charging, and troubleshooting

Electrical wiring for motors, sensors, and compressors
-
Instrumentation and PLC wiring and basic programming
-
Mechanical assembly and integration of prototypes and sub-systems
-
Operating manual and CNC machines (mills, lathes, etc.) for part fabrication
-
Performing occasional MIG welding
-
Assisting with setup and execution of various laboratory tests
-
Supporting documentation of assembly procedures, test results, and wiring layouts
-
Collaborating with the engineering team during development and troubleshooting
Ideal candidate qualifications:

Permanent U.S. work authorization required
-
Experience with HVAC/R systems and copper tubing brazing
-
Proficiency in manual machining and basic CNC operation
-
Basic understanding of wiring schematics and electrical systems
-
Familiarity with sensors, instrumentation, and PLCs
-
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills

Team-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently
